Leap Years

29 02 2008

I must be the world’s lousiest laptop user ever to accidentally spilled nail polish over my keyboard! The spill was quite heavy and parts of my laptop body has turned matte because of this!!! Can you believe it? Although the nail polish remover dries up fast but right now the laptop is overwhelming me with some thin yet unbearable evaporated smell. Gosh, what the hell is wrong with me? Am I born careless or something I have cultivate overtime? Something must be done before irreversible things happens! Cannot be happening now that I am already 22 this year.

Three midterm paper are on their way next two weeks and obviously the forever last minute student is struggling to get things done over stretched recess week. Nevertheless I fulfilled my promise to Peiting and we met for shopping therapy. We watched the leap year, a local produced movie, and I am giving it a 4 popcorns out of 5. It was so good that I may watch it again. Several Corrinne May’s song was used as the background music and it surprisingly fits the theme of the movie. I am starting to like her and I think she is deep. Anyway, I need to get back to work. How I wish I can go on to review this movie here. Lastly, Li lin is gorgeous. She shames me with the minimal makeup in this movie.

Technology

25 02 2008

My world will stop spinning and start collapsing if one day GOOGLE decides to stop all of its service and say goodbye!!! Yea, my gratitude towards what they have done for the humankind is that kind of extent! Isn’t it amazing how the duration for me to get something done has cut short by almost tripled now that we have search engines. There are plenty of other helpful apps available online too! I get to read ebooks, search for school materials, express my thoughts in blogs and watch videos in youtube; of course this is not just it. It is amazing. Sometimes I really wonder how people from a few decades older have survived without the ease of technology!

Term break commences

24 02 2008

Yes, tomorrow is the first day of my term break, which lasts for a week, and then that is when 3 midterm papers will start to kill me!!! The previous term break was disastrous because I spent all my time being lost about writing my philosophy paper and not revising my school work at all. At the end of everything, I only managed to pass philosophy paper marginally; how ironic!!! But anyway, I gotta meet up with my favourite gal during one of the day and another with Akiko chan and her another Japanese friend who will be arriving Singapore soon for a holiday~~~ Man, my 22nd birthday was pretty alright~ Dear surprised me with a $30 starbucks coupon but the rest of the day was living hELL!!! I had to rushed out my bibliography assignment and I got things all wrong right from the beginning. Luckily there was google book for me to read edited books online and I rushed things out like a mad woman. At that point in time I really felt like giving up. I don’t understand why I should force myself to go through all these when my friends are already earning stable income and buying wadeva they want to get. yea, in another sense I am a loser. I should have thought through about enrolling before deciding and not whine like a stupid crybaby. I get it! I am now in a position where quiting is out of my options. I better got to brace myself now or never. What a stupid post!

Inferior

15 02 2008

Being surrounded by a group of elites in university makes me feel very defeated and inferior. I feel so small because everybody has got something impressive to share with the rest of the class and I am often stuck with nothing to contribute. It may be because I failed to complete my readings before the tutorial so I shall now try my very best to complete my readings beforehand. Moreover, my polytechnic education did not equip me with the necessary technical essay writing skills so I have to pick up the essential writing skill as I write. And also I need to think critically and squeeze the time for quality reading.  Shall do all of these during the term break which will start in abt 2 weeks time. Bless me!

Valentine’s Day

13 02 2008

Tomorrow is the day when you will get to see the most number of couples walking pass you on the street to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but unfortunately I would not be one of them because school ends at evening; leaving me little time with him. But I am not really bothered by it because everyday spent with him is like Valentine’s Day. I have gotten him a little token of love and hopefully he will like it :D

Hotspot

8 02 2008

Luckily the hotspot @ Genting Starbucks works on my laptop, else I would have to put up with the world’s most grumpy face ever for the rest of the night! Haha!!! I am talking about him because all he wanted from IBM laptop was to download the latest LOST Season 4 episode 2.

Well, the weather here is not as cold as I’ve predicted beforehand, but the chilling air is starting to blow towards our hotel. Hmm, there isn’t much going on here actually. There are still some places we haven’t been yet and perhaps we will comb through the whole area here. Wow, outside is beginning to get real foggy when I looked up just now. I see more males than females loitering around the area. Haiz, I am going back to Singapore in less than 2 days which is a bad news. At least I wouldn’t feel the pressure to study that much as when I am in Singapore. Soon it would be week 5 and the workload which I’ve left piling up will start to collapse! I need more time indeed!!!!!!

Happy New Year

6 02 2008

Happy Chinese New Year folks!

I will be leaving Singapore for Genting in about less than 9 hours time. Everybody is done with packing their luggage and tomorrow our cab will pick us up at 7.15 a.m. Yes! Finally the wait is over! I love CNY more than any other festivals for I get to be overseas. Horray!

Holiday

5 02 2008

2 more days to Genting trip with my family members and him! He has never traveled with us before and this shall mark our very first! It is great to make a ‘Genting countdown’ each day just before I leave home to school, and finally I am down to the last 2 days. I guess the attraction of Genting Highlands isn’t what really excites me, but rather the idea of leaving behind all of my bothersome burdens to a foreign land with my loved ones is. You can imagine us to be a group of stressed up people waiting impatiently to break the gate loose in a bid to unwind ourelves. Chris seriously needs to cut himself off from the stressful working environment before he gets berserk; same goes to mum who slogs to make sure money isn’t an issue at home, and my sister who ventured into a whole new nursing field which proves to be nothing short of challenging. That sister of mine is really growing up man! Nobody in our household has ever imagined her to be a caregiver in an elderly home and she has gotten her first paycheck not too long ago! Amazing sister I’ve gotten there. And yea, dad is left out of the picture intentionally because he is solely there to gamble and we are the package that comes with it. HAHA. Now, don’t you think we have enough reason to take a break? Ah, my hard-to-contain excitement is distracting me from school work. I can’t believe how close I am getting to the heavenly Genting and I believe the temperature is going to be freezing cold while we are there.

I am in an extremely high spirits mood now and it feels so great! Dad did keep up his promise of getting 2 abalones, to my amazement, for reunion dinner which is taking place tomorrow evening. A double yay indeed! How I wish the time could freeze so I can enjoy and not worry about life at all. Sigh, reality sinks in yet again…
